This art colony is a forum for professional artists to exchange thoughts, methods and ideas and hopefully to gain friendships as well. We hope to cover different mediums, but the concentration will be with watercolor, oils and colored pencils to begin with. We would like to also do some step by step demonstrations here as time permits.
Oh such a color and so much pop to this. The one thing with you Solveig that I love is you love color!!! Now...what you going to do in the background???
Hei there,..I have used 4 layers of painting on the flowers, you know me and strong colors, used a little French Ultramarine on the top here and there to.
The background is going to be filled of leaves, no masking...only in the flower.
There must be something wrong on my FB wall,..can I do something to make it right again. nothing of the things I put out is showing, any suggestion?
Solveig sometimes on FB there is a delay...I have had it delay overnight sometimes...but give it alittle time and try again...perhaps it just did not take...but some days it is very frustrating!
Wow Solveig! You really know how to punch out those intense colors. Are you sure you need a background? I'm just loving these vibrant purples as they are!
Thank you thank you all, I love how they sing too,....and Mary, I have decided to have a lot of green leaves in the background, can`t turn my brain around on that, I see the painting finished in my inner eye, but will it turn out right...?
My husband have asked old friends over for dinner tomorrow, so I have to clean and make food,..and even bake a cake for desert. I rather want to paint.

I was going to ask you the same thing. Do you paint around the flowers or do you use masking?

Rich royal blue purple and I love it! Just saw where Daniel Smith has developed a quinacridone purple so may have to order it.

Gorgeous, Solveig! Your colors are electric! Most guys haven't figured out yet that joining a watercolor group is a great way to meet women:-}
