Schizanthus, Butterfly Flower, Poor Man's Orchid

Schizanthus are so delicate, light and airy. They make a beautiful bouquet. I need more practice in doing glass but I'll keep at it.

I posted this in the other site by error..

You are so versatile, Ruth. Collages, abstracts, realism...when you started painting again you really started in earnest! Love these colors and the light airey feel. Wish I had these ladies on my table to enjoy. The heat is really getting my flowers so I'll just have to depend upon you to "paint your season" of blooms. What size is this?

Jack of all trades, master of none..as the old saying goes.

This is a 1/4 sheet. Probably go in my bargain bin for the next Studio Tour. Everyone loves a bargain :)

Oh yes you can grow those wonderful flowers...I had a butterfly plant here a few years ago that was wonderful to attract the monarchs but do not remember what it was. Glad to see you painting again Ruth...you must be feeling fit as a fiddle!

Glad we are able to blow it up large. At the small size you can't see how lovely the flowers really are. Very delicate washes. Lovely, Ruth.

Ruth, these are so lovely! I think glass is intimidating to do because generally there are so many strong contrasts in its shadows and reflections. I'd like to see you do some experimental pieces with glass work...and really throw in some darks without a care!

What are the outlines done with, Ruth?
The flowers are so fresh and delicate. I would have overworked them.

Since this is a "play" piece I am going to get really dark in the vase.. if I blow it, you won't see it LOL

You won't blow it Ruth! I'm confident your results will be scrumtious!
